LTE will be available in Indonesia in 2012

The dawn of high speed 4th generation data network, Long Term Evolution (LTE), is realized by Nokia Siemens Network (NSN) by providing the LTE test bed in Indonesia. Certainly with the availability of this community centre among network operators in Indonesia, LTE will soon be available by  2012 as it is emphasized by NSN Head of Sub Regional Indonesia. With availability of the test bed as a  scientific testing ground in Information and Communication technology (ICT), for not longer time, Indonesia is stepping forward toward LTE.  This Test Bed is available shows NSN commitment and intention to implement latest technology in GSM. Hopefully with availibility of this test bed will increase the number of GSM customer in multi-variant GSM technology (WCDMA,HSDPA and LTE ) in Indonesia , which is currently reach 120 millions users, to 200 millions in 2012.

LTE networks will transform user-experience of telecommunication customer, enhanced mobile broadband services to a new level like internet browsing, sending e-mails, video sharing, music download, and also application download will be easily accessible without any delay.

The test bed in Indonesia is the 40th as before available in Australia,Thailand, and Singapore. The widening of test bed area makes NSN as pioneer in LTE technology with architecture inovation flat i-HSPA that is fully comply with 3GPP Rel 7. The technology provide smooth migration for operators to LTE. NSN claimed itself as the first company to demonstrate LTE technology with data speed around 160 Mbps, also successful handover between LTE and HSPA in 2006. NSN also break the record in 2007 by demonstrating field testing in rural area with peak data rates up to 173 Mbps.
